The highlight of Auction 300 was lots 2753 to 2780 – the best group of New Zealand error banknotes available at one sale. The room activity was quite frantic, supported by a strong book of absentee bids. All these lots were sold to room bidders at exceptional prices. Other consistent periods of strong auction room activity occurred in sessions dedicated to decimal coins, Australian gold, predecimal coins, world coins and world banknotes.
Some better performers were:
- Lot 774; Cessation of Transportation medal in bronze Unc, Est $900, sold $2,200 (featured on the front cover)
- Lot 761; County of Bendigo Agricultural & Horticultural Society award medallion 1875 gVF, Est $400, Sold $850; and its partner dated 763 dated 1878 gVF, Est $400, Sold $800
- Lot 953; Stamp collection 1913-1980 incomplete but with some scarcer issues, Est $500, Sold $4,750
- Lot 1429; 1922S Sovereign gEF, Estimate $20,000, Sold $25,000
- Lot 1435; 1924S Sovereign Unc, Est $3,000, Sold $4,000
- Lot 1591; 1923 Halfpenny technically graded gEF, Est $3,500, Sold $5,500
- Lot 1592; 1923 Halfpenny gVF, Est $2,500, Sold $3,750
- Lot 1740; 1921 Florin B/Unc, Est $3,500, Sold $4,250
- Lot 1759; 1932 Florin gVF, Est $750, Sold $1,600
- Lot 2961; Bank of New South Wales Five Pounds 19--, Est $3,500, Sold $5,200
- Lot 2962; Commercial Bank of Sydney Five Pounds uncertain date aFine, Est $4,000, Sold $8,500

With a high overall clearance rate of 87.3% there was also strength in clearance rates across the whole range of numismatic and collectable items on offer.
Particularly successful sessions were:
